This is the fifth in a "Getting to Know the Archangels" series. There will be a total of fifteen. I believe that if we have even the slightest or most child-like belief in angels, then we are already working with them. When I attended Angel Camp last June in Kona, I was introduced to the angels through the eyes of Dr. Doreen Virtue, who teaches and speaks of fifteen archangels. Although the names were mostly familiar to me, Angel Camp provided me with an opportunity to get to know the angels and their qualities from this specific teaching. So I am learning about the angels all over again. It is like seeing something familiar from an unfamiliar angle: they are recognizable but I now have a more complex perspective. I offer these Angel Blogs as a way of sharing what I am learning. I first heard the name Zadkiel when I was introduced to the works of Tom Kenyon many years ago. This is a man with a four-octave voice who creates spiritually-inspired vocals and harmonics. I was fortunate to stumble upon “The Ghandarva Experience” through some of my cutting-edge friends, and this recording is very near and dear to me. It is a multi-layered ceremony that includes the singing of the archangels’ names, including Zadkiel, and I strongly suggest you seek this out. Doreen teaches that Zadkiel’s purpose includes healing painful memories and embracing forgiveness. How powerful. Disengaging from painful memories and refusing to relive or recreate them is one of the markers of emotional freedom, and Archangel Zadkiel can help. Painful memories and unproductive thought patterns are closely related, and I have spent many years studying this aspect of myself. Unhelpful thoughts create and attract undesired circumstances which create more unhelpful thoughts and judgments... the vicious cycle begins! It is critical to learn how to disengage from both painful memories and unhelpful thinking, and to rewire the brain. This is where Zadkiel’s gifts come in handy. I have come to experience Zadkiel as an electrician, who actually goes into our brains and repairs the faulty wiring that comes from and perpetuates faulty thought patterns. The image that comes to me is countless electrical impulses firing, like little yellow sparks bridging the synapses in our brains. Some of them are coherent, but some are firing indiscriminately. Zadkiel can put his hands on our brains and heal any unproductive thought patterns and painful memories. Imagine deep indigo waves of energy emanating from these angelic hands and healing all that has gone awry in our brains. New pathways of thought and new ways of relating to our memories can actually be created. This is the healing power of Zadkiel. With this healing of our minds comes the ability to forgive, as we release old patterns of blame and resentment. I have found in my work with myself and with others that this pattern is a major cause of unhappiness and is critical in claiming a life of light and freedom. Working with Zadkiel is like receiving a gift of grace. Other aspects of Zadkiel’s healing mission includes remembering facts and figures. This is of great benefit to students who are writing exams or memorizing information for presentations. I see these qualities as being supported by Uriel as well, so think of these two archangels as partners in the intellectual realm. Zadkiel is associated with the zodiac sign Gemini, the sociable but studious multi-tasker. This may be one more reason why I love and connect to the work of Zadkiel. I have found a short meditation on Zadkiel’s name and posted it below. Sit back, close your eyes, and listen. Imagine healing waves of indigo pulsing through your brain, healing old thoughts, memories and other brain functions. Thank this wonderful archangel for the crispness and clarity of a whole and fully-functioning mind! If you like this blog, please click "Like" below and recommend it to your friends!
